MWC 2014 Barcelona, Spain – GSMA the group behind the Mobile World Congress awarded the “Best Smatphone” to HTC One breaking the winning streak of Samsung (Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3). HTC One is favored over Galaxy S4 – Samsung’s 2013 flagship and other smartphone manufacturer like SONY, LG and among others.

HTC launched a mid-range phone in MWC 2014 with their Desire 816 while they are preparing for their big event this March 25 in London. We might be able to see the second generation HTC One. The HTC One is one beautiful mean beast and it’s one of the few Android devices with Aluminum body. Personally my vote goes to HTC One as well versus Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z. My top three Android phone of 2013.

HTC is also updating the HTC One to Android 4.4 Kitkat in all its variant.

HTC One V – first look at MWC2012/android-phone/htc-mwc2012/ /android-phone/htc-mwc2012/#comments Mon, 27 Feb 2012 08:52:30 +0000 /?p=2409 HTC One V 3V 800x533 HTC One V first look at MWC2012
Mobile World Congress 2012 – Barcelona Spain, HTC (High Tech Computers) officially showcased the first three memberso of their latest HTC One Android phones, namely the HTC – One V, One S and One X.

The HTC One V when I saw it for the first time, it reminds me of the HTC Legend, released 2-years ago. It uses a unibody design that is distinctively an HTC designed phone. The One V has a 3.7-inch WVGA Super LCD display at 480×800 resolution. The processor is a Qualcomm 8255 at 1 GHz and has 512MB of RAM which will give a smooth performance right above the mid-range category. Storage is only at 4GB, but it’s got that extra 25GB from Dropbox. The One V has a 1500 mAh non-removable battery.
It will be using Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the latest Sense UI 4.0 which is the latest from HTC and compatible with the new Android ICS. According to Android Central, the software is not ready yet and the demo at the MWC12 is not fully functional.

Credit: Engadget for this cute Android

HTC is one of the biggest seller of Android powered devices and well known for the Sense UI, an overlay to the standard Android user interface. This is the official statement from HTC on their plans for the Ice Cream Sandwich.

“We are excited about the latest update for Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, and are currently reviewing its features and functionality to determine our upgrade plans. Our goal for Android updates is to give every customer an improved user experience, which means balancing each phone’s unique hardware, HTC Sense experience and the Android kernel. While our goal is to upgrade as many of our recent devices as possible, we are committed to maintaining every phone’s performance and usability first. Please stay tuned for more updates on specific device upgrade plans.”

In the next few months we will see some new handphones powered by ICS not only the Galaxy Nexus and expect that HTC will give us some awesome smartphone with ICS on it. Personally I can’t imagine how HTC Sense will change the stock Ice Cream Sandwich UI which  looks gorgeous already.

HTC recently launched their latest super multimedia phone powered by Beats Audio called HTC Sensation XL. Last night HTC formally launched the HTC Sensation XL  with Beats Audio in  London, UK.

The HTC Sensation XL has a 4.7-inch display basically this is a multimedia phone for people who likes to bring their music and movies on the go. You can sync your music from your PC or MAC to your Sensation XL for mobility and HTC also offers cloud storage to access your music and movies from anywhere.

Aside from Beats Audio that powers crisp music experience, HTC Sensation has another feature that no other Android smartphone have, the 8Megapixel, 8mm f/2.2 camera capable of panoramic shots. With its burst capability you can take frames while recording a video and can be uploaded directly to social networking sites like Facebook.

There are question from Android enthusiasts about the system specs. The processor is a single-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 and 768MB of RAM might not be powerful enough since most of the high-end smartphone today uses dual-core and a GIG of RAM but HTC proved that you don’t need that too much power to give users a unique multimedia experience.

When you purchase the HTC Sensation XL it comes with urBeats Headphones and it is only available for Sensation XL.

HTC released five commercial showcasing the capability of this gorgeous phone.
