Probably the easiest rooting method is the CF-Root. ChainFire is an elite developer at XDA and with over 9.5million downloads. He even joked that what if those 9.5 million downloads donated him $1 :). Anyhow, I am trying to Root the Android 4.4 but there are few tools used for Mac good thing Nexus 4 CF-Auto-Root of Chainfire is a cross-platform. He created 3 scripts for Windows, Mac and Linux each and it really helps. When I was a Samsung user his CF-Root method is my first choice.  So let’s begin Rooting the Nexus 4 runnong on Android 4,4 KitKat.

Warning: Rooting may cause Data Wipe, BackUp everything before you rooting your device. Misuse of this instruction may cause your device to brick thus render unusable. I am not personally responsible. Use this with your own rick.

Rooting Android 4.4 – Nexus 4

  1. Download CF-Auto-Root: Here
  2. Extract the Zip File e.g Desktop
  3. Boot your device in bootloader/fastboot mode. Usually this can be done by turning your device off, then holding VolUp+VolDown+Power to turn it on.
  4. Connect your device to your computer using USB

For Windows:

  • Run root-windows.bat

For Mac OS X

  1.  Drag the Folder of the extracted zip to Terminal
  2. Command ‘ls’ to list down,

Motorola atrix 4g rooted 203x300 Motorola Atrix 4G Rooted, HowTo
Rooting is the process of gaining admin rights to the device. Think of this us a computer with guest account, you need to install something but you can’t since you are just a guest user. By having root access you can remove bloatware, install back up apps and have a fully customized Android device.

Notable users designgears and Getaphixx from xda-dev forum were the first to root the Motorola Atrx 4G prior to its release last February.

The process is safe, but PinoyDROID can not be held responsible for anything nasty that happens to your Atrix 4G. Make sure you’ve done your research prior to rooting your Atrix 4G! Check out the rooting instructions below. The HowTo instruction is courtesy of BriefMobile.

How To Motorola Atrix 4G Root:

Operating systems that are already compatible and ready to root Atrix 4G

  • Windows 7
  • Ubuntu Hardy (8.04 LTS)
  • Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04)
  • Ubuntu Karmic (9.10)
  • Ubuntu Lucid (10.04 LTS)
  • Ubuntu Maverick (10.10)

  • Install Motorola drivers on your computer
    • Mount the device for Media Sync.
    • Then switch to Motorola Phone Portal
    • Motorola Helper will install proper drivers.
    • Go here and download and install the proper drivers if you cannot get your phone recognized.
      • If you must perform this step, you’ll need to install the Motorola Media Link program, then reboot your computer and device before trying to connect
      • Alternatively, download the more lightweight 64-bit drivers or 32-bit drivers for Windows computers.
  • Download Super One Click v1.6.5
  • 1. After installing the drivers, meeting the prerequisites, and downloading CLShortFuse’s Super One Click, proceed to the next step.
    2. Extract the Super One Click package to a folder on your computer
    3. Place your phone into USB Debugging mode
    * Menu >> Settings >> Applications >> Development >> Enable “USB debugging”
    4. Connect the device to your computer via USB cable
    5. Do NOT mount your device’s SD card
    6. Run the Super One Click program
    7. Simply click the “Root” button in Super One Click
    8. Before rebooting, click “Allow Non Market Apps”

Android Rooting for Dummies/about-android/android-rooting-dummies/ /about-android/android-rooting-dummies/#comments Tue, 15 Feb 2011 08:04:26 +0000 /?p=586 droid rooting Android Rooting for Dummies

Rooting Android phone is just a process of gaining superuser access to the operating system. In the normal usage the system only gives you a normal or guest user status thus limiting you to dig down under the system.

So what are the advantages of rooting android phone? Having administrative or superuser access to the operating system, you can modify what’s inside of it. You can install new modded version of Android, install mod themes,  tithering the radio settings like its bluetooth, install mod apps.

But don’t celebrate yet, rooting is dangerous too. If you do not know what you’re doing you might put your smartphone to the grave.  But thanks to Nandroid, you can recover much of everything but there is also a chance that you might still break your phone, especially the initial stage. It is always advised that you need to have a fully charged system before doing rooting to avoid power failure.

The best reason why you need to root your Android phone is when the vendor no longer provides update to the latest version of Android. Many root their phone because of this to take advantage of the latest Android.

Here are some great articles if you like to learn more about Rooting Android Phone:

Note: pinoydroid.net is not responsible if you “brick” your phone. Do it with your own risk!
