Google officially announced the Nexus S; the second Nexus phone. Not only that Google owns Android OS they also have an Android phone under the flagship name of Nexus.

The first Nexus is the Nexus One, manufactured by Taiwan based HTC. HTC is one of the top Android handset vendors however the Nexus One did not sell well in the United States while currently the Samsung Galaxy S is making its name in the US.

Nexus S is a modified Samung Galaxy S. The Nexus S is the first handset to have Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest version of Android.

Google Nexus S Features:

“Gingerbread builds on some of the most popular Android features like multi-tasking and Wi-Fi hotspot and adds a refreshed user interface, an improved keyboard, near field communication (NFC) support, and more.”

Gingerbread is the fastest version of Android yet, and it delivers a number of improvements, such as user interface refinements, NFC support, a new keyboard and text selection tool, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, improved copy/paste functionality and gyroscope sensor support.
