Also guys avoid flashing with any leaked Kernel because the emmc brick bug might be triggered during flashing. /flashing-leaked-android-404-lq5-galaxy-ii-brick-phone No Green light from Odin?

Rooting is basically hacking, or for the Apple users, "jailbraking" your phone to remove restrictions and gain admin rights. Once rooted, you can install custom ROMs, kernels, apps, etc. that will help you control and manage your phone, from backing up your apps to controlling your phone's voltage settings like under and overclocking. Though this sounds good, this actually voids your phone's warranty. Also, there's a risk of endless reboots and fried motherboards. Question, what is rooting? what is it for? I'm using SGS2 running on GB 2.3.5 right now and i want to update to ICS. Do I have to do this "rooting" thing? Thanks! Hi, newbie in android OS here. Costs around P83 in the Play Store but free at XDA. Pang-beer lang daw ni ChainFire sabi nya kaya may charge sa Play Store... hehe.. Mind you though, he only guaranteed it to work on ICS-running i9100 and some other devices.
