Samsung is testing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III will get the update soon

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

After some report the Samsung Galaxy S II is not getting Android 4.1 Jelly update  because of the resolution and dual-core issue it resulted to heated debate because the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S II is almost identical in hardware specification (Galaxy Nexus is now running on Android 4.1).  Now, SamMobile reported that Samsung is currently testing the Android 4.1 on Samsung Galaxy S II and the result is positive. The S II is still a popular device and much capable as the Galaxy Nexus and chances are it will get the update.

Also, Samsung is working on their current flagship – Samsung Galaxy S III which now sold more than 10-million units.  Most likely by August or September an official update for the Galaxy S III will be available.  Samsung is going to update all their HIGH-END devices and that includes the Galaxy NOTE.

Every Samsung High-end phone owner is looking forward for this update. The Android 4.1 is a minor update to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and porting of the new OS to the latest devices running ICS will not be as hard as porting ICS on devices running Android 2.3 so hopefully the great S II will get the said update sooner.

Frankly, there’s not much of an excuse for the S2 not to get the JB update simply because the older Nexus S got upgraded. Though we have to consider the Nexus line is being served with Vanilla ICS (if I’m not mistaken), while the flagship line (S series) is being laced with TouchWiz, which many say messes up the eligibility of the S series to get OS updates.
