if you want to have a flawless Froyo performance, make sure that the device has enough RAM atleast 256MB of RAM and 600Mhz Processor.

I have here the catalog of Cherry Mobile, they have version that uses 2.2. There is no question if the system can run 2.2 or not. It is usually up to the vendor if they release the latest update to there phone. For example Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica, the first version was Android 1.6 then they updated to 2.1, sadly Samsung announced that they will no longer provide official update to the said phone to 2.2. Many Galaxy Spica users today root there unit by using modded Android. The downside is that some features won't run.

So, if you want to buy an Android Phone, better to get the latest models with Android 2.2.
