Qualcomm S4 SoC – boost performance, better graphics, multimode modem
Recently Qualcomm formally introduced their upcoming S4 SoC (System-on-a-chip) mobile processor. This new Qualcomm S4 is built in a 28nm fabrication. In electronics, the smaller the chip the faster and cooler it become, because it generate less heat. Aside from performance it consumes less power making it cooler as I said earlier.
The new Snapdragon is packed with Krait CPU clock between 1.5Ghz to 2.5Ghz and the Adreno 225 GPU that promises 50% boost in graphics performance compared to the current Adreno 220.
One feature that Qualcomm is showcasing is S4′s support for every radio from GSM, CDMA, LTE, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, FM and NFC. With everything inside one chip this makes the production cost is lesser and most important nowadays is space. As our smartphone become thinner and powerful we need this kind of performance.
But how to prove this theory? Well, Qualcomm teases us in this commercial just to prove how power efficient the new Snapdragon is. We got here a Prying Mantis in a unicylce, Tarantula in a thread mill and other bugs playing around in some circus rides making this Qualcomm Bug Circus Generator an amazing place to charge your Snapdragon powered devices.
