Samsung is the king of Android smartphones in France, HTC for EU5 and UK
ComScore recently released some data regarding Android smartphone market share in 5 European regions. With its number HTC now is the king of smartphones in EU5 and UK with shares of 34.6% and 50.9% respectively.
The latest smartphone population in the UK at around 6.1million units 50.9% of this is from Taiwan’s HTC, next is Samsung with 21.6% followed by Sony Ericsson, LG and Motorola.
I think Samsung has the reason why they filed their complaint against Apple in France because the French is the biggest supporter of Samsung Android smartphone in the region. Samsung has the market share of 42.3% , HTC 21%, Sony Ericsson 17.4%, followed by LG and Motorola.
Both LG and Motorola market share at single digit in the Europe shows that they need to work hard in those market. We can already see this in the past where product launches done by HTC and Samsung are held in Europe. Also customers prefer some brands over the other. I think this is the reason why French loves the Samsung while for the British the HTC. Both manufacturer makes gorgeous Android smartphones.
