Android Ice Cream Sandwich- bridging the gap between phones and tablets
Google I/O 2011 – After the announcement of Android 3.1 Honeycomb, Google announced the upcoming version of Android, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
So what’s with Ice Cream Sandwich? According to Google, this version will fill the gap between the smartphones and tablets. As we all know that the Honeycomb is optimized for tablets only. In this new version the Honeycomb goodies will be available to phones and Gingerbread features to tablets. It’s has been the issue with app developers where you need to develop separate apps for phones and tablets.
The Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to be launched this Q4. The fragmentation in development is the biggest problem in Android and Google has paid attention to this issue thus development become more efficient.
