Good news to all Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica users! We all know that Samsung no longer provide update to their Galaxy Spica and the last update is the Android 2.1 Eclair. Although Eclair is a good version the lack of flash support is the biggest downside of this Android version.
I stumbled at Samdroid.Net forum and a certain post caught my attention “Froyo [AOSP] for i5700”. According to the post the new build is now stable and all hardware are now supported. The build comes with ADW Launcher v1.3.3, Samdroid.net’s recovery v0.1.3.b6. and CyagonMod’s file manager.
Installation of the the mod is pretty easy, download the SamdroidMod, apply to SD card, enter to Recovery mode, wipe data & cache if you use Android 2.1 (SamdroidMod 1.x.x), apply the SamdroidMod-2.x.x.x_.zip and lastly Reboot.
Here is the step-by-step instruction:
How to install
1. Download (with Google Services): SamdroidMod-2.2.2_a9.zip (64.73 MB)
2. Put it to SD card
3. Enter to Recovery
4. Wipe data & cache if you use Android 2.1 (SamdroidMod 1.x.x)!
5. Apply SamdroidMod-2.x.x.x_.zip
6. Reboot
7. Play
