Combining Smartphone, Tablets, Smart TVs, Cloud storage, Wireless video and Audio streaming in your home and all powered by Android? Yes! It is becoming a reality with Google’s project “Tungsten”. Last year at Google I/O 2011, Google featured the Android@Home concept.
Android@Home works by combining all this entertainment systems into one and controlling everything in one device powered by Android whether it is a smartphone or a tablet. You can stream from your Android device and output it to your wireless speakers. Streaming your videos wirelessly from your DLNA capable device to your DLNA capable display.
We’ve seen the Lenovo SmartTV powered by Android last CES 2012 and all of this is making sense right now. Google will release its own branded wireless entertainment system later this year. This is an answer to its greatest rival the Apple AirPlay. With Google cloud storage rolling out very soon and with its various partners in OEM we can expect more devices that can integrate to Android and other Google services. Not to mention YouTube streaming to your Internet TV and the latest Google Music are just the beginning of the future of the smart-wireless-home-entertainment systems.
