Android Open Source and Compatibility Tech Lead
Random note: there’s no hard minimum processor requirement for Gingerbread. Trust me, if there were I’d know.
Followed also by LG’s official statement clarifying the issue about LG Opimus One support for Gingerbread and they officially said that the Optimus One will indeed be able get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.
LG will upgrade all Optimus One smartphones currently using the Froyo OS to the next version of the Android OS, Gingerbread. Details of the upgrade schedule will be announced locally in due course. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding that was caused regarding this issue.
