Samsung Galaxy Z was previously reported last July and now Samsung officially annouced the new addition to the Galaxy line – the Samsung Galaxy R. Samsung dropped the Z and now it is called Galaxy R. The specs of the new Samsung Android Phone is still the same as previously reported. It is a 9.55mm thick dual-core processor and Samsung is not revealing what’s inside but most likely an Nvidia Tegra – 2 processor is on it.
The operating system is Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung Touch Wiz UI. The rear camera is a 5MP with 720p HD video recording capability and 1.3 MP front facing camera. The display is a 4.19-inch WVGA Super Clear LCD capable of 1080p playback.
The Galaxy Z is a good alternative for high-end Android phones like the Galaxy S2. With its Android 2.3 OS and Nvidia Tegra 2 processor (if true) this phone is very promising. The display is not great as Super Amoled but it’s much better compared to other display.
It will be officially available this August and it will be launched in Europe followed here in Asia and China.
