One week before the month ends Samsung is starting to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 ‘i9300′. Our friends from SamMobile get the taste of the new update. The Galaxy S3 now enjoy the project butter. Project butter is simply a new enhancement introduced to Android 4.1 to give the UI a smooth and responsive experience. In the video they showed the response is so quick.
There are two ways to get the update one is via Kies software update from Samsung. The downside of this is it will only give you an update only if the update for your country is rolled but since this is the first official Android 4.1 Jelly bean rolled out for the Galaxy S3, you can download the official firmware from SamMobile and flash this via Odin.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 features the following:
- Better performance, thanks to Project Butter it’s even smoother and faster
- Reorganized settings menu
- 2 Homescreen modes
- New Notifications bar
- S Note instead of S Memo
- Google Now
- Resizable Pop-up play screen
The first country to get the tasty upgrade is Poland with PDA I9300XXDLIB CSC I9300OXFDLI1 MODEM I9300XXDLIB. As I said if you want you don’t need to wait for the official firmware for the Philippines. You can download this firmware and flash it.
Update: As time of writing SamMobile is not yet hosting the stock firmware. Let’s just wait for few hours.
