Globe Cloudfone Ice – another affordable Android phone in the Philippines

I thought the Samsung Galaxy Y is the cheapest Android phone in the Philippines to date and I was wrong. I was Googling around  and found that Globe Telecom Philippines has this  Android phone Cloudfone Ice U8500 by Huawei.

Cloud phone Ice is an entry level Android phone like the Galaxy Y though the specs is not that convincing  if you ask me. Powered by a 600Mhz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM. It is a 3G phone via HSPDA 7.2 Mbits and supports  GSM network. The Android OS is Android 2.1 Eclair and no official Froyo or Gingerbread update from Globe. Globe Cloudfone Ice  price is Php 4,990 for prepaid and free for Plan 499.

      what do you mean? Only the storage can be expanded via microSD and you can move your apps to your external storage using app2SD app.

      I think this phone is exclusive for globe as it carries the branding “CloudFon” but its real model is 
      Huawei 8500 Froyo.
