Computex, Taipei – Acer showcased their sub $200 Android tablet. The Acer Iconia Tab A110 is a 7-inches tablet is powered Android 4.0 and Nividia Tegra 3 processor. According the TheVerge interview this tablet will categorize as a low-end device and will be available in the third-quarter of 2012. Today we talk about low-end device to be a Quad-core powered and 1GB of RAM.
The sub-$200 tablet is a project of Nvidia called the “Kai $199 program”. This will help OEM to produce a $199 tablet this due to cost effective materials being used to the devices. The Acer Aconia Tab A110 is the first to be showcased even there was a report for the Google Nexus Tablet from ASUS also to be a $199 tablet. In this year’s CES ASUS showcased their MEMO me370T Tegra 3 tablet which some speculate that a basis for the Nexus Tablet.
This kind of product will truly hit the market because of its price and also of the high demand in tablet computers. Android, iOS are competing for this piece of market and Windows 8 based tablet is coming soon. I am just hoping that will hit the market shelves with $199 price with no value added cost and this will become one of the cheapest tablet in the Philippines.
