Who says it can’t be done? HTC promised that the HTC Desire HD is getting Android 4.x Ice Cream Sandwich but no dessert has been served and even removed the Desire HD from List of HTC device that is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich because their reason was the hardware of the device is not powerful enough for the said Android version.
XDA Senior member QD2DC and Team Blackout development released a fully working Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the HTC Desire HD. This custom ROM is 100% complete and no issue was being encountered or reported.
Since it is an HTC, how about the famous Sense UI? Another good news because they ported the HTC Sense 3.6 on this ROM basically you will taste the 100% HTC experience. This ROM is based on the HTC Increadible S and the made some improvement. The ROM is using BlackOut’s own custom kernel so expect additional performance boost.
