LG launched recently two high-end phones in the Philippines, The LG Optimus 2x – the first dual-core phone and the LG Optimus Black (P970). The Optimus Black price in the Philippines is Php19,990.
This phone is powered by a TI OMAP 3630 1 GHz processor, one of the fastest mobile processor today. The out of the box OS is Android 2.2 Froyo and upgradable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread once update is available.
The display is a 4inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors at 480x800pixels giving this phone crystal crisp display and vivid colors. This phone has its own custom UI called Optimus UI 2.0 with Gesture UI 2.0. This phone is one of the thinnest at 9.2mm, thinner than the iPhone 4.

might be a hit in our country. but i think it’s only counted as high-end because IT IS IN our country.
The 1Ghz processor phone is still in the high-end range, below than that are mid-range..

Take the htc Incredible S for example. It just launched here, has 1 ghz processor, but across the globe it’s referred to as a dying breed of superphones.
there are few dual-core phones in the market today and mostly only available in the US and the entire world are still into 1Ghz Snapdragons and Ti’s SC. The dual core phones now are being called superphones and new name will emerge as we are entering the QC phones and slates….
