Google just released a new data showing what version of Android accessing the Android Market. This is one way of knowing what version is widely used throughout the world. Currently Android 2.3.3 – 2.3.7 Gingerbread leads around 50.1%, followed by Android 2.2. Froyo at 35.3% while the Android 3.2 Honeycomb is only at 1.2%. The legacy OS like the 2.1 Eclair and 1.6 Donut is slowly decreasing at 9.6% and 1.3% respectively.
In the next few months we can see new turnaround in the data as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be part of the Android circulation. Both OEM and Carriers will push update for the new OS and many of the current Gingerbread devices will get the Android 4.0 upgrade.
